This pragmatic online (or in-house) workshop provides the definitive guide to what constitutes “best practice” in assessing and controlling fan noise (from take-aways to steel works) and practical advice on effective measurement, analysis and the specification of noise limits. It includes:-
“The best lecturer I have ever had with relevant case studies.” Jon Tofts: PPC officer Env. Agency
Please thank Peter for a great course. Been along time since I went on INVC course - but I realised during this course that a lot of what I apply in my work and the phrases and values I use go back to that training with Peter!
“Really good to actually hear sounds on a noise course - I liked the diagnostic approach; excellent style of presenting, case studies excellent - 100% excellent for presentation” - various, SEPA
"I did this course 15 years ago and have since completed the IoA noise diploma. This presentation is still the most complete refresher in acoustics I've seen. The remainder of the course is full of practicable examples of real world noise control for EHOs. Would thoroughly recommend." Patrick Chisholm, EHO, Darlington Borough Council
Location: online or it can be delivered in-house e.g. at a host local authority, inviting EHOs from across the country. This provides high-quality training at a startlingly low cost.
Course outline: 1 day workshop designed for EHOs, Environmental Agency staff and regulators involved in occupational, environmental (and planning) noise where fans are a common issue.
Learning objectives and outcomes: provide delegates with the knowledge to analyse and assess fan noise and detailed guidance on the mitigation options, including the latest technology.
Accreditation: an INVC attendance certificate is issued
Qualification: 2 CPD Points
Relevant regulations etc: BS 4142-2014; the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005; planning requirements, Buy Quiet purchasing policies
This noise training course is run online or at a host site. Once a date has been selected, EHOs from other authorities can then be invited. This dramatically reduces costs and the course is often over-subscribed. Some authorities have even made a profit or run the training twice... High-quality training at the time of your choice and at 10% of the cost.
Delegates can email current or past problem case studies in advance for a free analysis and evaluation and for discussion.
Ideally to have some experience of environmental or occupation noise issues that involve fans. Other than that, none...
